For removing non-water-soluble deposits like tar or graffiti, use solvents like denatured alcohol, mineral spirits, or xylene with caution, always testing in a small area first. For specific stains such as rust, acids like diluted hydrochloric acid or vinegar can be effective but must be followed by thorough rinsing with water.
